  1. Disk No: 2903
  2. Disk Title: Bert's Dinosaurs
  3. PC-SIG Version: S1.0
  4.
  5. Program Title: Bert's Dinosaurs
  6. Author Version: 12/91
  7. Author Registration: $20.00(U.S.)/$30.00(Int'l)
  8. Special Requirements: VGA graphics and a mouse.
  9.
  10. BERT'S DINOSAURS is an enjoyable coloring program for children of all
  11. ages, but is especially useful for introducing young children to the
  12. computer. BERT'S DINOSAURS was designed by educators to be used by young
  13. children with a minimum of assistance by adults. As a coloring program
  14. BERT'S DINOSAURS is superior to many other children's coloring programs
  15. in that it allows the user to place the various dinosaurs, all in four
  16. different sizes, on a variety of backgrounds. This encourages children
  17. to create their own picture before coloring and gives them something to
  18. take pride in.
  19.
  20. When first started, BERT'S DINOSAURS displays a title screen and then
  21. the drawing surface with eight buttons on the left. Children can operate
  22. the program with the mouse alone. A window is provided which allows
  23. children to write a short story about their picture using the keyboard.
  24. The fact that they created the picture will help provide the motivation
  25. to write about it. One of the best ways for children to learn to read is
  26. to write, even if their initial attempts include phonetic spelling. They
  27. will love creating a setting, writing their own story, and printing out
  28. a copy.
